Welcome to Competitive Tri-Swim Masters:
“It’s all about the swimmer in you.”
***COVID-19 UPDATE*** Closed until end of school year for 2020 (As of 4/1/2020)
Covina Aquatics Association: Competitive Tri-Swim Masters (CTSM) LLC, is an official U.S. Masters Swimming club member. CTSM is a monthly coached swimming/fitness and Adult Learn-To-Swim program. We provide a fun, safety conscious and engaging environment for the swimmer-athlete & non-swimmer/fearful swimmer. We believe in developing a swimmer’s physical skills through a challenging and success-oriented program whether you are a new swimmer, fitness/lap swimmer, competitive swimmer, or a triathlete. CTSM seeks to create a positive, proactive, and supportive atmosphere coaching through excellence and integrity.
CTSM provides the San Gabriel Valley with a comprehensive swimming program. Our program allows swimmers to develop stroke technique and endurance for their end goals. CTSM currently utilizes the Northview High School swimming pool, in Covina, CA (See Map). Please see our calendar for our practice schedule. (NOTE: We swim rain or shine, but we will cancel practice should lightning be in the area.)
The city of Covina is 54.6% Latino and has California poverty levels of between 10.5 and 18.5%. CDC Statistics also show that 45% of Latinos cannot swim. A survey of 6 neighboring cities with community pools within a 5-mile radius of our location shows that only 3 pools offer adult swim lessons, those lessons are offered seasonally for only 4 months, and at least one of those pools has a waiting list for adult lessons. *If a parent/adult does not know how to swim, there is only a 19% chance that a child in that household will ever learn to swim. (National research study commissioned by the USA Swimming Foundation and conducted by the University of Memphis, 2010). For the reasons outlined above, we believe that our newly established U.S. Masters Swimming: Adult Learn-To-Swim program in our community can thereby reduce the numbers of adult and child deaths due to drowning, as well as help others build a love of swimming.
CTSM believes that swimming and its associated benefits should be enjoyed by everyone from the fitness swimmer to the competitor. We actively support other USMS swimmers, by providing an open and welcoming group to workout with. By extending a helping hand, CTSM seeks to build positive relationships through swimming.
CTSM is a U.S. Masters Swimming Club/Team, which requires all participants of CTSM to register for USMS. Register for USMS here (USMS registration fees will apply). (View USMS membership benefits here)
Once members register for USMS, members must register for the CTSM swimming program online. (Register for CTSM here). There is a $10.00 registration fee.
The current monthly dues are $50.00 per calendar month. (Monthly dues are automatically charged on the 1st of each calendar month. NOTE: CTSM will process a one time prorated monthly dues, should a new member register after the first week of the first month that they register in.)
